For all the work that goes into a camping trip, you (I) just don't get that much fun in return.
Oh, but I do it for the kids!!
I mean, I'm already on my 7th load of laundry, I just washed my hair and it still smells really bad, and all I did the whole time was make sure Gus didn't put his hands straight into the fire to pick up a piece of wood (which he came extremely close to actually doing!).
We've gone every year to the same place for at least 20 years...our whole family goes and the kids make tons of memories with their cousins. What are you gonna do?
PPS Gus really did start enjoying it after a mile or so.
