Working Wednesday

I love it when I come into the office and there is a huge cookie with pastel M&M's on my desk!

Oh crap, I realized this morning that I don't even have any eggs for coloring!
How did Easter sneak up on me like that?  All the plastic eggs, baskets and coloring kits are still up in the attic.  Oh, the fun resurrection eggs are up there too.  The kids loved those last year.
This is the second year in a row that I didn't get around to taking an Easter pic to make into cards for the relatives.  Dangit.  I think there might still be time if I do it tonight.  Oh and guess what? Blanche is going to wear the same dress she wore last Easter.
I know
I can't even believe I'm telling you this.  But seriously, it's Janie & Jack and I really feel like I want her to get some use out of it.  It was a little big on her last year so it will fit perfectly this year, and it has the cutest matching beret and tights.  Plus we're going to a new church now so nobody will notice.  Except me.  And my sister.

This week is crazy.
Can I just unload my brain for a second?
*The kids both went back to preschool after a week off.  That was stressful in itself just having to get up early and get the kids dressed and out the door.  We got kinda used to staying in our jammies.
* I got Porter's Kindergarten paperwork completed.  (sobs)  It cannot really be time for this yet!   (more sobs)
*Blanche started gymnastics last night.  (giddy)  I do realize it may not be the best parenting tactic to live out your childhood dreams through your child, but seriously I always wanted to be a gymnast.  Of course she is a total natural and she looked so stinking cute in her gymnastics attire and french braids.  I told her that if she acted like a big girl (no whining) she could pick out any toy she wanted from the "toy store" (Dollar Tree).  She chose a Cinderella puzzle.
Don't you agree if your kid is going to be Olympian material by the time they are in high school they need to start the sport immediately?  I'm sure when some of those fencers were three their parents chose the sport for them.  You need to be thinking ahead for some of these events.  You can't just wait until your kid is fourteen and then say, "Oh maybe we should start teaching you to ice skate", or whatever.
So I decided that Blanche will be a gymnast.  I think her best events will be the floor exercise and uneven bars.
I don't care, let me have it.
At least I'm not a pageant mom!
* Porter's first soccer game of the spring season is on Saturday.  Go Tritons!  I have no idea where his shin guards are.
PS I don't want him to be a soccer player when he grows up.  I prefer baseball, but T-ball doesn't start until May.  He's already signed up.

How am I going to get any work done today?
I still have to plan my Easter menu.  I know for sure we're having Brussels sprout gratin and everyone's favorite appetizer-crescent rolls with cream cheese, red peppers and bacon.

Now, I'm gonna eat my cookie, drink another cup of coffee and then put on my headphones and get started with my typing.

Maybe I'll buy some eggs on my lunch break.

Working Wednesday

Home at last

No, I haven't gotten any sun.
Why would you ask such a thing?
Oh, you're looking at my neck and see exactly where my necklace was?
Ouch.
It really hurts to smile.

Working Wednesday and my new mission

So I usually keep pretty close tabs on my makeup supply, but somehow a few weeks ago I ran out of mascara. I usually buy from the Clinique counter or order MK on ebay, but I needed it ASAP so I ran through the files in my brain of ads I had seen in US Weekly and remembered this one with Rihanna.

On a side note, I had always thought her name was Rhi-Anna, but today I discovered it is actually Ri-Hanna. Interesting.

Anyway, needing the mascara right away, I ran (drove) to Wally and purchased Covergirl Eyelights. I found the one that is made especially for brown eyes. After using this for several weeks, I have come to the conclusion that there is nothing special about this mascara at. all. It doesn't make your eyelashes sparkly or illuminated or anything of the sort. It just makes them black.

It's just regular mascara.

I don't get why they want you to think it lights your eyes up or something (I mean, with all the fancy advertising, I was actually thinking my eyes were going to have a twinkle in them.) I'm beginning to wonder if the one made for blue eyes is exactly the same but just in a different package. After having to go through this total letdown from the drugstore cosmetics industry, I have decided to start a mission. I am going to try out different types mascaras that have been hyped up by the media. I will test them and report back to you. I will do this because I love you.

PS: last night at midnight I was watching a rerun of Tori & Dean while eating a bowl of vanilla ice cream with caramel sauce, peanuts, and rainbow sprinkles (yeah, I know.) and I decided that I really would be a much happier person if I had Tori's arms. I'm totally into skinny arms right now. I mean you can put Spanx on other problem areas, but there is just no way to shapify your arms without actually having to do pushups or curls or something.

On another side note, I would never, never want her scary boobies.

It Was Only A Dream/Working Wednesday

Thank goodness!
I may look a little sad and haggard today because last night I had a bad dream.
A nightmare.
In high school I used to work at Deb and sometimes I have a dream that they call me in now to cover someone's shift even though the store no longer exists and I can't even remember how to use the cash register. Well of course all the workers were different than when I first worked there,
so for fun I made them guess my age.
Their guesses were 43, 45, 47 and 57.

I have a feeling this dream occurred because November 11th is getting closer every day...

Working Wednesday/Before I Had Kids

1. I didn't become a waitress/short order cook the second I got out of bed
2. I didn't realize baby wipes work for everything including spills on carpet
3. I was horrified if I stopped by someones house and their kids were still in jammies at 11:00
4. I swore my kids would never eat fast food or watch TV
5. I basically knew everything about good parenting

Working Wednesday

Today was working Wednesday but I stayed home from the office and caught up on all my lurking projects. I got so much done that I took two loads to two stores and even had time to mop the kitchen. (pat pat on my back)
Here are pics of a few finished projects.

Just for me

the oomphed up ironing board

I found the vintage doggie fabric in my grandma's attic.

A little side table that doubles as an extra seat.

This little gem was headed for the dumpster.
Luckily my husband had enough sense to save it for me.

(You gotta love a man that knows how much garbage means to you)
I still need to ModPodge down the letters but I wanted a picture now.

Mac and I don't have the best relationship
but he did look pretty darn cute snoozing.

Working Thursday

Hey Jack,
What's your AF?
I'm making a flip flop from the Greasy Spoon.
Just drank some mud & ate some mud balls.
Now I'm going full throttle and Johnny Law is on my tail.
All the good numbers.
Copy?
(I found a CB lingo website and I'm completely cracking myself up!)

Working Wednesday

Proof you can still feel good about yourself even with unwashed hair that had to have a bunch of baby powder sprinkled on it as to not look so greasy and with the little
J-Lo baby hairs stuck to your forehead plus going on about 4 hours of sleep because your 3 year old was constipated.
