How long did your child suck his/her thumb or fingers?
I thought she would automatically grow out of it by Kindergarten, but here she is turning 7 next month and still sucking in her sleep.

my 14 year old sucked her fingers until she was probably 9 years old. She ended up getting an expander put in her mouth to prepare her for braces and that was the end of that. There was no more room in her mouth for fingers once the expander went in. For a while before that, we encouraged her to only do it at night, not when she was just sitting around watching tv and during other relaxing times.
